We’re back! This week my colleague and I visited Cityden Oud-Zuid again, and so much has changed since our last visit. Where we used to see mostly bare rooms and building materials, we can now honestly say: we’ve come a really long way.
We start on the ground floor, and it’s immediately clear how much has happened. The reception is in full swing. A few months ago we needed a lot of imagination to picture how everything would look, but now the outlines are really starting to show. You can already see exactly where our guests will walk in and check in. As a marketing enthusiast, I’m of course already picturing how we’ll capture those very first “welcome” moments.
And then the moment we’d secretly been looking forward to for a while: we got our first sneak peek of the SYD kitchen! It was so much fun to finally see where all the delicious dishes will be prepared. To be fair, there’s still some work to be done here. But the foundation is in place, and with a little imagination you can almost smell the first dishes already. We’ll of course keep you posted on how it all comes together.
From there, we take the stairs back up and work our way past the floors. And we’re so happy with what we see! The rooms have made huge progress and look absolutely great. The ceilings I mentioned last time have now been neatly finished (goodbye, lovely pink panels…), and the apartments have really taken on their own layouts. You can clearly see where all the bathrooms will go, where the kitchenettes will be installed and how the spaces will feel. It no longer feels like a construction site, but like rooms you can already imagine coming home to after a long day.
Of course, I had to stop by my favourite apartment too. With those large windows on two sides and the view over Beethovenstraat, it’s still my number one. Now that the space is really taking shape, it’s getting easier and easier to picture the beautiful shots we’ll be taking here.
At the end of our tour we arrive back downstairs, where we hear a few final details about the coming period. There’s still plenty on the schedule, but the finish line is really starting to come into view. That only makes us more curious about our next visit.
Be sure to check out the vlog as well, because some things you just have to see for yourself. We hope you enjoyed this blog and vlog once again. See you next time!
